The purpose of the burgeoning non-profit organization Strays for Seniors & Pets for Patients is to match otherwise perfectly good homeless pets with nursing homes & other long term health care facilities so that all residents (including animal residents!), staff & visitors benefit...animals set for euthanasia will get a new lease on life while offering love & companionship to nursing home residents who can really use it!
We seek to get facilities interested in giving homes to such pets & to connect eligible facilities with appropriate pets...it is the intention of Strays for Seniors & Pets for Patients to put an end to both euthanasia of neglected, homeless animals & the loneliness & isolation that comes with living in a nursing home or long term health care facility all at the same time.
If even half of existing such facilities had one live-in pet per 10 residents, and staff members were allowed to bring their pets to work, and each new resident were permitted to bring their beloved pet to move in with them, everyone would be a whole lot happier & healthier, contributing to making the world a better place!
That is the vision of Strays for Seniors & Pets for Patients.
